Cinémathèque Annotations on Film @ Senses of Cinema
Each film we screen is accompanied by articles commissioned specifically for the Melbourne Cinémathèque. The articles are included as part of the quarterly online film journal Senses of Cinema. Print-outs of the articles are available at the screenings, allowing audiences to easily gain some worthwhile insights into the significance of the films shown. Direct links to relevent Cteq Annotations and Senses of Cinema articles are provided from each film's page on this site.
The Cinémathèque is committed to producing new writing on the films in its yearly programme, promoting a scholarly, historically aware and critically literate approach to film-going. The articles are peer reviewed, and academically referenced. We attract contributions from international scholars and writers, from a variety of proffessional backgrounds. Calls for papers are sent out via the Senses of Cinema and Cinémathèque mailing lists.
