A pompous music critic incensed that a recently deceased cellist refused him an interview, decides to ruin the artist's reputation but is hampered by a bevy of the maestro's female companions. Bergman's riposte to the mixed critical response of his previous "morbid" films is a satirical farce that pokes fun at critics. Sven Nykvist's use of colour brings out the ornate sets & flamboyant '20s costumes. With Jarl Kulle, Harriet Andersson & Bibi Andersson.
