JULY 18: Kings of Comedy - 8:10pm

The Bellboy

(Jerry Lewis) 1960 USA 71 mins G

Introduced with an air of pre-emptive defence by the so-called "executive producer in charge of all productions" at Paramount, this inventive comedy marked Lewis' debut as director & is still regarded as his most experimental work. Loosely structured around a series of gags that playfully explore the formal properties of cinema, the film is essentially plot-less & features cameos by Milton Berle & Walter Winchell.

Followed at 9.30pm by Errand Boy. Screens after Sherlock Jr. (7.00pm).
